About the experience

A journey back to calm, clarity and yourself

Join us on one of the most profound and soulful journeys of the year — an eleven-day experience in the homeland of meditation and yoga. Together with Magnus Fridh, we will immerse ourselves in mindfulness, breathwork, and Hatha yoga, at a calm pace and with no prior experience required. Each day includes guided meditations, yoga, and quiet exercises that bring inner clarity and recovery.

The journey begins in Kathmandu, where we will encounter the city's sacred sites, colors, and scents. On the very first day, we will experience healing bowl therapy and a thangka painting class, before concluding with a gentle meditation.

Following this, two days await at the mythical Namobuddha Monastery, where we will stay with the monks, participate in evening prayers, morning yoga, Buddhist lectures, and ceremonies at the sacred stupa. Here, with views of the Himalayas, we will experience the original home of meditation.

Next, we travel to Nagarkot, 2,170 meters above sea level, where the sunrise over the Langtang massif creates perfect conditions for morning yoga on the rooftop terrace. We then hike through Nepal's countryside to the historic village of Sankhu and experience the daily life of the local population.

In Kathmandu, we conclude with two days of culture and colors: visits to Thamel, the old town, Durbar Square — and the magical festival of Holi, where color, joy, and music fill the streets. We also visit Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath, and medieval Bhaktapur before the trip concludes with walking meditation at the great stupa in Boudha.

This is a trip for those who want to find their way back to tranquility, expand their presence, and bring some of the clarity of the Himalayas home with them. Download the prospectus for the entire trip here >>

Day by day

Programmes

  1. Day 1–2
    Arrival in Kathmandu

You arrive in Kathmandu and are met at the airport as agreed.

On the very first day we experience singing and healing bowl therapy — a traditional Nepalese practice combining the harmonious healing sounds of Tibetan bowls to encourage inner calm and wellbeing.

We also take part in a thangka art class, entering the vivid world of thangka painting, a traditional Buddhist art form. We close our first day with a peaceful meditation to settle into the new surroundings.

  2. Day 3–4
    Namobuddha Monastery

After morning yoga we travel south-east to Namobuddha, one of the most significant Buddhist pilgrimage sites south of the Himalayas and one of the holiest Buddhist places in the world. From here there is a breathtaking view of the Himalayan mountains.

Here we stay in the monastery, join the evening prayer and eat together with the monks. The next morning we begin with yoga and a talk on Tibetan Buddhism, followed by ceremonies that include the offering of prayer flags and a visit to a sacred stupa. The day ends with a restful evening meditation under the stars.

  3. Day 5–6
    Lalitpur and Nagarkot

After morning yoga and breakfast with the monks we travel on by bus to Nagarkot, at 2 170 metres above sea level. In clear weather there is a striking view towards the mighty Langtang massif.

We explore the surroundings and enjoy both the view and the beautiful hotel with its terraces facing the mountains. The day ends with evening meditation and an early night, so that we can rise at dawn for yoga on a rooftop terrace as the sun comes up over the Himalayas.

  4. Day 6
    Hike to Sankhu

After breakfast in the mountains we set out on a gentle hike from Nagarkot to the picturesque old village of Sankhu. We follow paths winding through green valleys and over lush hills, with sweeping views of the majestic Himalayan landscape as a constant companion.

Along the way we have the chance to meet local people and see their traditional way of life. Once in Sankhu we explore the ancient temples and narrow lanes that give the village its character.

  5. Day 7–8
    Thamel and Durbar Square

After the walk through mountains and countryside we arrive in Thamel — the lively heart of Kathmandu. The streets hum with colourful markets, charming cafés and shops full of both traditional craft and modern finds. Here we have time to wander and simply take in the buzzing atmosphere.

We continue with a guided tour through old Kathmandu, visiting among other places the historic Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ornate temples, palaces and cultural richness.

  6. Day 9
    Swayambhunath and Pashupatinath

We leave Thamel for two of Kathmandu's most iconic sites. Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, is one of Nepal's oldest and holiest Buddhist shrines. With its iconic stupa and panoramic view over the Kathmandu valley, it offers an atmosphere for spiritual reflection and meditation.

Pashupatinath is one of Nepal's most significant Hindu temple complexes. Dedicated to the god Shiva and set on the sacred Bagmati river, the temple is known for its impressive architecture and ceremonial rituals.

  7. Day 10
    Boudhanath and Bhaktapur

On the tenth day we arrive in Boudhanath, one of the largest stupas in the world and an important Buddhist shrine. This lively district of Kathmandu is full of vivid markets and spiritual meeting places. Experience the stillness as you walk around the stupa, take in its architecture and join in prayer and meditation.

Half the day is spent in Bhaktapur, a medieval city that takes you back in time with its well-preserved architecture and rich cultural heritage — narrow lanes and squares, traditional craft, temples and palaces. Bhaktapur is also known for its arts and crafts, including pottery and woodcarving.

  8. Day 11
    Walking meditation around the stupa

We begin the day with a walking meditation around the Boudhanath stupa. Let yourself be absorbed by the peaceful atmosphere and the sound of prayers as you walk around the stupa and reflect on your own thoughts and feelings.

This day promises a deep experience of meditation and spiritual reflection, where we can rest and revive our senses in harmony with nature and the spiritual atmosphere.

  9. Day 12
    Journey home

It is time to leave beautiful Nepal. We see everyone safely to the airport for the journey home.

    Namaste.
